Il vassoio FOSSIL è un gesto morfologico, dove fluidità e dinamismo giocano il ruolo principale. Racchiude il concetto di congelamento dei processi di morphing ma allo stesso tempo linee e geometrie danno origine all’immagine di un movimento tridimensionale. È un fossile, che cerca un modo per fuggire al suo destino…rimanendo “vivo” soprattutto quando la sua forma diventa tutt’uno con la materia che ospita, a partire dallo stampo che ha termoformato la lastra in Corian da 4 mm che lo costituisce.
Per celebrare il quarantesimo anniversario di Corian by Dupont©, DuPont ha inaugurato a Milano, durante Il Salone del Mobile, edizione 2007, Corian© “40 years / 40 designers”, una mostra itinerante che consiste in accessori da tavolo o scrivania progettati da 40 progettisti provenienti da tutto il mondo. Dopo Milano, la mostra si è spostata in altre locations, tra cui New York (ICFF), Londra (100% design), Francoforte (Design Annual), Parigi, Oslo e Bordeaux.

FOSSIL tray is a result of a design research which explores natural phenomena. It is a morphological gesture, were fluidity and dynamism play the main roles. There is a sense of freezing its ‘morphing process’ but at the same time lines and geometries generated sense of three-dimensionally movement.
It is a fossil, which looks for a way to escape its destiny... remaining ‘alive’.
Its seamless landscape form has been made possible using the quality of Corian, just thermoforming a 4mm thickness material.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of DuPont Corian© solid surface material, DuPont presented in Milan, during the Milan Design Week 2007, Corian© “40 years / 40 designers”, a travelling exhibition consisting of new creations (table/desktop accessories) by 40 designers from around the world.
After having been exhibited in Milan, the exhibition moved to other locations, including New York during the ICFF 2007, London during the 100% Design, Frankfurt during the Design Annual, Paris, Oslo and Bordeaux.
In 2008 FOSSIL has been shown also at Pierre Berge & Associates in Bruxelles in occasion of their auction in December.
